Chutes Coulonge

There is a famous waterfall/tourist attraction here also, the Chutes Coulonge, and you can see more by following the link. The Parc Des Chutes was awarded the best outdoor activity in Québec in 2010, as they have an extensive network of aerial ziplines. Tickets for the Chutes can be purchased from our office.

The Bike Trail

All along the shoreline of Domaine De L’O is the Cycloparc PPJ – a 91.7km bike path that runs from Wyman all the way North to Domaine De L’O (55km or just under 3hrs by bike) – and further North (36 km) to Alumettes Island. The PPJ was formerly the Pontiac-Pacific Junction railway. The Town is a mere 10 minute walk along the trail and just a couple of minutes by bike, where the PPJ crosses the Félix-Gabriel-Marchand covered bridge – one of the largest of its kind.

Fort Coulonge

Fort Coulonge was the earliest and most central Hudson’s Bay Outpost on the Ottawa River.  The name Domaine De L’O – really centres on the letter O – both a symbol of the Ottawa River, the shape of the river as it wraps around Grand Calument Island . It also refers to the circle of life, ecology, the Earth – and all that is perfect and whole.

Boating & Whitewater Rafting

The put-in and take-out points for the whitewater rafting (Esprit Rafting) are just minutes away. Visitors of Domaine de l’O can obtain discounted rates with Esprit Rafting. However, the arm of the river where we are, and for almost 100km up river are calm offer unparalleled boating. A number of other resorts and restaurants accessible by boat (or car). We will be adding one 20′ dock and swim-raft in 2012, and a small fleet of rental boats (pedal kayaks). The shoreline drops to a 4′ depth in about 12′ – so it is perfect for boating and swimming. One can boat 20km downriver before arriving at the Bryson dam, and over one hundred km before the upriver dam at Rapides des Joachim (above Pembroke). One really needs a motorboat to properly explore the region.
